Fluentgrid’s Smart Utility Suite on cloud for UPPCL wins DCD APAC Award

Fluentgrid’s smart utility product suite deployed on cloud for the four DISCOMs of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) won the DCD Asia Pacific Award 2018 in the category – Cloud Migration of the Year. The winners were announced during the 12th Data Center Dynamics (DCD) South East Asia Conference held on the 11th of September 2018 at the Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

This Award was presented as it demonstrated an innovative or pioneering approach to cloud adoption especially when migrating from the traditional data center environment. And one that best matches business objectives to corporate requirements in terms of risk, availability and security.

Earlier this year the project won the award at the national level and then nominated for APAC awards. We now hear that the project has been nominated for global awards. DCD awards are considered as the Oscars of the data center industry.

UPPCL is the transmission and distribution utility in India’s largest state Uttar Pradesh. Its 5 DISCOMs serve more than 20 million consumers with connected load of 35 GW and energy sales of about 55,000 MU per year. Fluentgrid implemented its smart utility product suite comprising of CIS, CRM, RPS, MWM and BI products on cloud for UPPCL’s four DISCOMs namely DVVNL, MVVNL, PVVNL and PuVVNL. The landmark cloud implementation covering nearly 14.5 million consumers was completed in record time for a project of this size and complexity.

Mr. Murali Krishna Gannamani, MD & CEO of Fluentgrid praised the efforts of all Fluentians who made it happen and thanked the UPPCL management for reposing faith in Fluentgrid to execute the project. He also thanked the DCD team for encouraging companies by rewarding their innovative efforts thereby sending a message to others across the world for thinking on those lines. He is confident that in the coming months many more DISCOMS would confidently take the UPPCL route and that Fluentgrid is well positioned to support them.
