Fluentgrid named again in Gartner Hype Cycle for Smart City Technologies and Solutions for 2021

Fluentgrid COC, a leading urban management platform accelerates delivery of Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC aka City Operations Center – COC) solutions for smart cities.

Visakhapatnam, India – 7th January 2022: Fluentgrid, a leader in transforming utilities and cities with proven products and solutions, announced that it has been mentioned again as a sample vendor in the recent Gartner Hype Cycle for Smart City Technologies and Solutions in 2021 report.

According to Gartner’s Hype Cycle for Smart City Technologies and Solutions 2021 report, “a City Operations Center refers to a platform that helps government officials manage smart city environments with a city solution encompassing a comprehensive and holistic viewpoint. The solution delivers operational insights to optimize the city operations’ efficiency and quality of citizen life through visualization.”

The primary functions (business impact areas) of a city operations center are:
  • Support routine operations management, resource monitoring and optimization, automated decision making
  • Multidimensional visualization for both macromanagement and micromanagement, dashboard reporting, and data sharing
  • Emergency response hub, situation awareness, and escalated decision-making capacity
  • Data resources for future smart city planning

Fluentgrid COC, build around the Actilligence platform, is the leading urban management platform that accelerates the delivery of integrated command and control center solutions for smart cities. Going forward, City Operations Centers would become the interface for a city digital twin like Virtual Singapore, where city officials and the urban ecosystem could view, develop and simulate based on the platform.

Fluentgrid COC comes pre-configured for industry-leading smart city solutions from our partners across various urban domains. It also facilitates easy integration of third-party solutions and city applications with open APIs. The platform architecture is inherently scalable to ever-increasing users, devices, integrations, data, and processing demands of a growing city.

The Visakhapatnam City Operations Center, which was implemented in record time, integrates 23 different city systems including IoT-based smart elements and city applications. Shortly after implementation, city-wide revenue collection efficiency increased by 43% and citizen grievances response and closure rate have almost touched 99%. The COC was found to be very effective in working round the clock for Covid-19 management, controlling the spread of dengue fever in the city, and quickly recovering from the Phethai cyclone.

Recent deployments of Fluentgrid COC at Lucknow and Kochi smart city command centers was found to be extremely effective for COVID management in those cities. It is now under implementation at Bengaluru smart city.
