Job Title: Database Engineer

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration solutions
- Develop complex SQL and PL/SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, packages, and performance-optimized database solutions
- Work with databases including Oracle, PostgreSQL, IBM DB2, and ClickHouse
- Develop and maintain ETL workflows using Pentaho and other data integration technologies
- Perform data extraction, transformation, cleansing, validation, and loading from multiple source systems
- Integrate data from HES, MDMS, billing systems, ERP systems, IoT platforms, and other utility applications
- Work closely with application, business, and product teams to understand data requirements and develop appropriate data solutions
- Optimize database queries, ETL processes, and data pipelines for performance and scalability
- Support data migration, data quality, reconciliation, and troubleshooting activities
- Develop data solutions supporting analytics, reporting, AI/ML, and business intelligence use cases
- Collaborate with development teams on integration using Java, Python, APIs, Cloud, and IoT technologies
- Ensure data security, quality, availability, and compliance with organizational standards
- Troubleshoot production data issues and provide timely resolution
- Participate in technical discussions, solution design, documentation, and implementation activities
- Travel onsite on demand based on project requirements
Mandatory Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in SQL and PL/SQL
- Strong experience with Oracle Database
- Experience with PostgreSQL
- Experience with ETL / Data Integration
- Hands-on experience with Pentaho
- Experience with ClickHouse and/or other analytical databases
- Experience with IBM DB2
- Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, data transformation, and data quality
- Experience working with HES (Head-End Systems) and/or MDMS (Meter Data Management Systems)
- Strong understanding of the Utility domain – Electricity, Water, or Gas
- Exposure to Java and/or Python for data engineering and integration
- Exposure to Cloud technologies and IoT platforms
- Ability to analyze complex data requirements and develop scalable data solutions
Good to Have Skills
- Knowledge of Smart Grid technologies and protocols
- Hands-on exposure to DLMS/COSEM
- Knowledge of MQTT and IoT communication protocols
- Experience with Analytics, AI/ML, or AI adoption use cases
- Experience integrating with SAP IS-U
- Experience with Billing Systems and utility applications
- Experience with APIs, microservices, and system integration
- Exposure to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Experience with real-time data processing and streaming technologies
Candidate Profile
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in Data Engineering / ETL / Database Engineering
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Willingness to travel onsite based on project requirements
- Candidates who can join immediately or within a short notice period will be preferred
